Overview
A growing number of companies transact a significant portion of their finances through international channels; more and more businesses must go abroad to find new markets as domestic markets mature. Even those corporations conducting business strictly in the U.S. have to compete with foreign imports for foreign labor. As a result, major corporations that take advantage of international financial opportunities have a competitive edge.
UGA has designed its Finance and International Business co-major to assist students in developing an in-depth understanding of the international finance and business arena. Students take courses in international finance, international business, legal transactions, strategic management, international marketing, and others. Students must also satisfy an international immersion requirement such as a study abroad program, internship, or additional foreign languages. (Refer to the Pre-Business major for information on applying.)
Career opportunities upon graduation include financial and foreign exchange analysts, financial specialists, international trade specialists, auditors, brokers, FBI/CIA agents, consultants, business managers, project coordinators, and many others.
