Real Estate and International Business Co-Major
Terry College of Business
Overview
A growing number of real estate firms transact a significant portion of their business through international channels. Even those conducting business strictly in the U.S. have to compete with foreign markets. As a result, real estate firms that take advantage of selection, acquisition (lease or purchase), and disposition of international property have a competitive edge.
UGA has designed its Real Estate and International Business co-major to assist students in developing an in-depth understanding of the international real estate business. Students take courses in real estate development, valuation, international business environments, finance, investments, legal transactions, and others. Students must also satisfy an international immersion requirement such as a study abroad program, internship, or additional foreign languages. (Refer to the Pre-Business major for information on applying.)
Career opportunities include international real estate sales, leasing, appraising, management, lease negotiation, financial analysis, or as right-of-way agents for international real estate project development.
