Overview
The dual A.B in English and B.S.Ed. in English Education program at UGA focuses on preparing students to teach English Education.
Graduates of this program will be prepared for teacher certification in grades 6-12 through the Georgia Professional Standards Commission. You will take a range of coursework including; literature, writing, reading and speaking. This cohort-based program integrates hands-on experience to build subject-area knowledge and pedagogical skills and methods.
Teaching careers are available in traditional middle and high schools, vocational-technical centers, alternative and magnet schools, and language study tech-prep programs. Graduates also find jobs in public relations, management, technical writing, publishing, business, and others that demand writing, interpretation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
