Overview

Marketing is an integral part of our everyday activities and experiences. It is a business practice concerned with developing, transporting, promoting, and selling the vast assortment of products and services needed to satisfy the diverse wants and needs of consumers.

The Marketing major at UGA is future-oriented. Students take courses in consumer behavior, marketing research and strategy, sales management, analytics, digital marketing, social media, marketing communications, brand management, and many others to gain an understanding of the analytical methods and research procedures used in identifying and solving marketing problems in the ever-changing marketing world. Two areas of emphasis are available: Professional Selling and Digital Marketing. Coursework is bolstered by the student organizations: Pi Sigma Epsilon (PSE) and American Marketing Association (AMA), which offer business contacts, leadership experience, and social interaction.

Many graduates move directly into lucrative sales or management training programs or pursue careers in research, brand management, digital management, or social media analysis. Others go on to graduate programs to prepare for academic or professional careers.
